The twenties survival guide: Growth, Boundaries & Happiness

No one has it all together (and that's okay)

There’s something about your early twenties that feels like both the best and the most confusing time of your life. You’re old enough to make your own decisions but still figuring what the right ones actually are. You want to be independent so bad, but sometimes you still have to call your mom because your washing machine starts making weird noises or you don’t know how to do something for your first time. It’s a weird in-between phase where you’re constantly learning, failing, growing and trying to act like you all have it all together.

Success looks different for everyone, and I’ve stopped measuring mine by someone else’s timeline. Some people are getting married, some are traveling the world, others are still figuring out what they want to do and all of that is okay. I used to stress so much about not being “where I should be” by now, but who even decides that? Life isn’t a race, and I’d rather take my time and actually enjoy it.

Something I wish I had realized earlier is that relationships—whether friendships, family, or romantic should feel safe and supportive, not draining. It’s okay to outgrow people, set boundaries, and choose who gets access to your energy. Protecting your peace isn’t selfish - it’s necessary.

And let’s talk about mental health because, honestly, we don’t talk about it enough. Social media makes it seem like everyone has their life together 24/7, but trust me, nobody does. Prioritizing self-care, taking breaks, and asking for help when you need it doesn’t make you weak—it makes you human.

At the end of the day, I just want to be happy, healthy, and surrounded by good people. I’m still figuring things out, but maybe that’s the whole point. Life isn’t about having all the answers it’s about learning, growing, and enjoying the ride.

  1. Absolutely agreed - we all should take our time sometimes, regardless of whether it's a day or a month. Sometimes we just need a moment to ourselves. Great job!

  2. "Do you feel accomplished after the success?" That is the question I ask myself frequently whenever I accomplish something (mundane or not). Something as little as this question helps me keep me on the right track and motivates me to move forward and improve myself, little by little!

  3. So many things i find relatable to this topic - friends i outgrew, late evenings i call my dad to ask recipes, and even realization that I shouldn't compare myself to others. I absolutely agree with you saying that life isn't a race, it isn't about having all the answers, but more rather its about living, learning and just enjoying this unique journey. That is my life motto. Well done!:)

  4. I loved how you mentioned that life is not a race. I completely agree that everything happens at different times for different people, and that’s perfectly okay. It’s such a great reminder to stop comparing ourselves to others and just focus on our own journey.
